Sundowner

Just because the sun is going down, doesn't mean the waves aren't coming up.

  1. Second shot (going backside) is probably your best surfing pic ever imho. The wave in front obscures the board, which is generally bad. But that subtraction is made up for because the foreground wave is photogenic. The last pic gets an honorable mention. The surfer, who looks like Professor Rick, is in perfect position. Good catch. Keep up the photos, you may make a career in it some day.

  2. Thanks for the kind words, Jason!

Though I do disagree with you. Not only do I think that's nowhere near my best surfing shot, I don't even think it's that good over-all.

And as for a career doing surf photography: no thanks. I already had a 20-year career as a photojournalist, and nobody (especially in the crap-paying surfing world) could convince me to whore myself and my camera out that way again.

Which is why I get to shoot them the way I want, and say fuck-you to anyone who wants to compare my style of shooting to the crappy surfing magazines that are designed to appeal to 15-year old boys, and immature, tasteless grown men.

    Love, Baby!

  4. My best shot... I sunk one with a 6 Iron at 50-yards, from behind a hill, for a 2 under par at Astorhurst once.
